On 1st January 2007 I took my wife's advice and started a food Blog. It is safe to say now that writing about food has become an obsession to me.
Little did I know how well received my writing would be, and my Blog now has hundreds of hits per week from people all over the world. My writing style is from the heart and hopefully demonstrates a natural love of food. People who know me describe my writing as though I have just walked into a room and started to talk about the subject that I love. So no pretensions, no over explanations, just good honest talk on what should be a good honest subject.
My preferred cooking style is simple and uncomplicated, and this is reflected in my writing. Readers who have previously been lacking a little confidence in the kitchen have found confidence in some of my recipes. This natural inspiration means a lot to me, and if anything it shows that anybody can cook. All it takes is a little time, effort and belief in your food. As a self taught chef from South Shields with no formal training, I am evidence that anything is possible.
I am now a writer for the new British food specialist magazine Tastes Of Britain, a magazine that celebrate the best food producers, growers, retailers and food heroes that this country has to offer. I also write a weekly column for the South Shields Gazette, and I am currently working on my first book which I hope to have finished in 2008.
